ARTIST STATEMENT

«My jewelry features rare hand-blown, hand-cut Czechoslovakian glass beads circa 1890-1920, vintage Swarovski Austrian crystals, handmade European crystal glass buttons cast from antique and vintage button molds — some of which have been in existence for more than 150 years — and hand-painted in metallic and iridescent colors, as well as other unique objets d’art.

«The antique Czech beads, noted for their brilliant coloration and sparkle, represent the extremely limited supply which survived wartime destruction of the original factories and warehouses and are a historic link to an almost forgotten age of artisanship.

«These dazzling rarities inspired boldly experimental European designers a century ago and now inspire me to create contemporary collectible jewelry in which High Style sophistication merges with modern simplicity and nuance.»
